This program is an excellent opportunity for any professional who wishes to learn the best practices of project and project portfolio management, and who wants to understand how decision-making on project portfolios enables the realisation of organisational objectives.
To keep up with the pace of developments in today’s world, organization’s are in a constant state of change. The ability to realize change in a timely manner, with high quality and within budget is a prerequisite for an organization’s success. Yet, 44 percent of change initiatives fail in implementation according to research from the Project Management Institute and the Economist Intelligence Unit. This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills that are required to successfully manage projects and portfolios of projects, and thus the ability to realize your organization’s strategy. The program objectives are to lay out the foundations of project management, to teach how to best manage multiple, related projects and to explain methods to bridge the gap between strategy formulation and its day-to-day implementation.
The whole program consists of 3 Modules as folllows:
- The first module of the program focuses on Project Management.
- The second module of the program focuses on Program Management.
- The third module of the program focuses on Strategy.
FACULTY: Liane Elbertsen is President of the Project Management Institute in Luxembourg and works as Senior Strategy Consultant at the European Stability Mechanism. She is passionate about project management and how adequate project management helps organizations to achieve results in an efficient and effective way. Liane has almost 15 years of experience in the financial services industry of which ten years experience with managing projects, notably in international, time- and cost-sensitive environments. Liane is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute and has a PRINCE2 certification. Liane has a strong background in Strategy & Operations Consulting with extensive experience in advising the C-suite on design and transformation of operating models in order to reduce cost, increase revenue and comply with regulation. She has a Master in Business Administration from Radboud University Nijmegen and a Bachelor in International Business and Languages from Arnhem Business School, both in the Netherlands.
FACULTY: Dr. Roger Warburton is an associate Professor of Administrative Sciences in Boston Universityand the academic Coordinator for Project Management Programs. Dr. Warburton’s researchfocuses on the practical challenge of inventory control. He publishes and lectures internationally about domestic manufacturing, challenging the obsession with manufacturing everything offshore. He teaches courses in supply chain management and project management, both in the classroom and online. Warburton conducts research in project management, having developed a model for including time dependence into Earned Value Management, to determine project costs and schedules early in their life. Previously, Warburton was the MISdirector for Griffin Manufacturing, helping transform an apparel manufacturer from a simple cut-and-sew facility into a twenty-first century operation with a global supply chain and domestic manufacturing supported by international outsourcing. Before that, he was vice president of the Software Technology Division of Jaycor, directing the technical analysis of very large information systems.
FACULTY: Dr. Dino Dogan is an experienced executive and a professor of Management at the Luxembourg School of Business. He has extensive experience in the telecommunications and media sector. Dino has worked 10 years with Alcatel in their german subsidiary and in their Paris headquarters. In the Telekom Austria group he acted as the CFO of their Croatian subsidiary and as CFO of Mobilkom Austria, overseeing and implementing the merger with Telekom Austria to create Austria’s largest telecommunications operator – A1 Telekom Austria. For the successful integration he was awarded with the European Change Communication Award. Dino has also served as the CFO of Croatian Telekom (member of Deutsche Telekom group) and has worked as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Dino currently runs his own Business consulting and Design management company and acts as the CEO of Europlakat d.o.o. (member of JCDecaux group). He earned his PhD from the University of Stuttgart.
