ADVANCED MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

OVERVIEW Advanced Management Program is designed to accelerate your career and increase your personal and professional skills. During three weeks, you will collaborate with your peers, top professors in business education and experienced executives in leading top companies all around the world. Through group work, case studies and coaching session, you will gain a 360° view of the business.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND ? This program is designed for professionals with at least 10 years of experience in general management. Every mid and senior manager who want to sharpen their understanding of each business unit.

Duration:  3 Weeks. The Advanced Management Program is composed of 3 modules of one week each.

Format:  Classes take place from Monday to Friday (9 am to 5 pm).

CRAFTING AND IMPLEMENTING STRATEGY

Day 1 & 2

The aim of this course is to develop strategic thinking skills, evaluation of strategic alternatives, prediction, and management of strategic change. Participants will learn concepts, theories and new approaches to strategic management. As well, develop the ability to apply strategic thinking when analyzing the dynamic and complex current business situation and the implementation of new key business concepts. The purpose of this course is to better understand the competitive forces in the world in which an organization operates, with special emphasis on maintaining a superior competitive position of companies.

FACULTY

Dr. Dino Dogan is the Dean of the Luxembourg School of Business. As CFO of Mobilkom Austria, he oversaw and implemented the merger with Telekom Austria to create Austria’s largest telecommunications operator – A1 Telekom Austria.

Understanding Financial Statement

Day 3 to 5

The purpose of the program is to understand topics from corporate finance by using real-life examples, to be able to assess historical and current financial results of a business, its ability to generate cash flow and adequate return to investors. The program is focused on enabling non-financial managers to better understand the drivers of their (or any) company’s economics. Finally, this is an opportunity to exchange mutual practical experiences, clarify frequently encountered financial terms and phrases often heard but never completely understood, and finally to learn tricks and tips not written in conventional academic literature.

Faculty

Dr. Andrej Grubisic is a Professor of Finance at the Luxembourg School of Business. In 2010 he started a corporate finance firm: Grubisic & Partners Corporate Finance focusing on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, valuations and due diligence.

BUILDING TRUST WITH OTHERS

Day 1 & 2

Exhaustive studies have shown that increasing trust is the primary driver of new revenue generation within an existing client group. Is your ability to build trust as good as it could be? What impact would it have if you were better at it? The biggest gap found in many world-leading leadership development programs is the gap between how much leaders believe they are trusted and how much they actually are. Getting better at the understanding trust is a key step in taking greater control of your practice and your life.

FACULTY

Dr. Darryl Stickel has worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. He has served clients from senior military deployed in Afghanistan to senior wealth advisors or CEO of multinational corporations. He holds a Ph.D. in Business from Duke University.

PEOPLE & ORGANIZATIONS

Day 3 & 4

We as individuals act differently inside as opposed to outside of the organizational context. This program will help you align your HR strategy with organizational objectives.

Dr. Mark Van Dongen is an expert HR leadership development practitioner. His career has seen him in HR directorship roles at global companies such as PwC, Japan Tobacco International and recently at Arcelor Mittal where he is responsible for a total of around 2500 employees.

MANAGING INNOVATION & DESIGN THINKING

Day 1 & 2

Learn how to effectively manage innovation projects within your company by creating new game-changing business models, products or services. Managers need a new set of skills to deal with a rapidly changing environment that requires them to identify and tackle new problems or new ways of solving existing ones. To be competitive and survive we have to become creative more than ever. Learning the way that creative people look at problems and constraints as opportunities, not as threats is the focus of the design thinking approach.

FACULTY

Ivanka Visnjic is a Professor of Innovation at ESADE and a Research Sponsor at the University of Cambridge. Ivanka has taught in MBA and Executive Programs and worked with BAE Systems, Caterpillar, GEA, IBM, Pearson and many more.

BUILDING ORIENTED CUSTOMER BUSINESS

Day 3 & 4

The purpose of this program is to explore the concept of customer value, the heart of marketing. Learn how to influence the customer perception of your brand, product, and service.

FACULTY

Dr. John Branch teaches marketing and international business courses at M.B.A. and executive levels. He conducted management training for Mercedes Benz, Coca-Cola, Michelin, and Nestlé. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.
